Semblanza:
Sarah Abel es investigadora en filosofía de la ciencia, especializada en el estudio de los racismos y antirracismos contemporáneos y sus intersecciones con los saberes científicos y las tecnologías genómicas, visuales y digitales.
Es doctora en antropología social de la École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) de París y realizó estancias postdoctorales en la Universidad de Cambridge y la Universidad de Islandia. Fue miembro de dos redes de investigación interdisciplinaria (EUROTAST y CitiGen), y su trabajo ha recibido apoyo de la British Academy, Humanities in the European Research Area, y el programa Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions de la Comisión Europea. Pertenece al SNII, Nivel 1 desde 2026.
Es autora del libro Permanent Markers: Race, Ancestry, and the Body After the Genome (University of North Carolina Press, 2021) y sus trabajos de investigación aparecen en revistas como Science, Technology & Human Values, Studies in History and Philosophy of Science, Current Anthropology, Comparative Studies in Society and History, entre otras.
Actualmente, su programa de investigación se enfoca en la ética y filosofía política de los generadores de imágenes de inteligencia artificial y su potencial para amplificar formas de opresión epistémica en las sociedades latinoamericanas.
